* First of we have the whole Weatherup/Haskill line(s) who would of seem to of come to Canada 1820s or 1830s but possibly 1840s. (Thomas & Elizabeth and their Haskill spouses). And where do they fit in the larger tree? * The ancestors of the Northern New York Weatherups supposedly came aboard the annie in 1845 or 1847 (which is it? Does any one have a passenger list for the annie?) via Quebec (and also possibly with a stop over in Nova Scotia). This included John Weatherup (widow of Sally Watson) and his son Thomas Weatherup and Thomas's 1st wife (& cousin) Mary Weatherup (who died either during that stopover or else shortly after arriving in NY) and their children (John "Jack", James, Sarah/Sally, and maybe Alexander) * Then there is the ancestors of the Western New York Weatherups (my line) John B. Weatherup, his wife Margaret Houston/Huston, their children of the time (the eldest daughter for sure, maybe also Susan and or Robert depending on exactly when it was) and Margaret's father Robert. This would seem to be 1847-1849 time frame (or are we wrong and this was 1845, meaning Kittie was born on this side of the pond?). * sometime before 1861 George Weatherup moved from England to Ontario. Where does he fit in the larger tree? * Will just told me that about 1900 one of the sons of James Weatherup (b. 1857) emigrated from Antrim about 1900 (possibly either Edwin or Walter) * In 1911 James Kirk (I think my record of Krik is a typo Miller Irwin "Riley" Weatherup moved from Antrim to Canada. * About 1920 Anthony Weatherup moved from Antrim to the west coast of the USA and in 1927 his brother Marriot Donald Weatherup moved to Australia and Anthony's daughter Mary later moved to London. * Since 1938 some of the decendents of John Weatherup of Antrim have dispersed through England and Scotland (not sure if this would be considered emmigration/immigration in the international sense we are interested in here since Northern Ireland, England, and Scotland are all home countries of the UK, but what the hey). * Within the 20th century a Weatherup supposedly moved from Antrim 'back to' Scotland, another moved to the states, and two siblings (Gordon & Alexandria) moved to Ontario
We also have the 1832 land patent of 100 acres in Dummer, Newcastle, Ontario to a dischared gunner named John Witherup, is this a Weatherup? Plus of course there are the various rumours- About two Weatherup brothers comeing to America from Scotland to serve as officers in the American Revolution and settling in back bay Boston. And if the family is Scotch-Irish/Ulster Scots (not confirmed) then there would be at some point the move from Scotland to Ireland. Which also brings up that Ione Weatherup Klotz chart thing claiming the Weatherup's came to Scotland with the Stuart clan.
Anyone have any others?
It also raises the question asked previously, did the New York Weatherup's and one or more of the Canadia Weatherup's immigrated together down the St. Lawrence as some of the stories go? Or was it seperate moves?
This information was given to me by another Weatherup family line.

Hey People, my names SaLeanna Leigh Weatherup. So yea... im part of the Weatherup family. And its really interesting learning about my family and ancestors. My last name comes from my father of course Scott Weatherup. I have 3 sisters. Theres Jeriica Weatherup, Teatherlea Weatherup, and then my sister Darbie Weatherup. We of course live in Ny. I have a couple cousins here and there but I dont really know them. But for now thats all I can give you. BYE
Hi there. my name is Noni Weatherup daughter of Jon Dalby Weatherup who is a son of Donald Malcolm Weatherup late of Ireland who migrated to Australia early 1900's. I have 3 siblings, 1 with remaining name Weatherup - Anna Joy weatherup. I have 1 uncle in Townsville, Australia - Malcolm Weatherup. Thats All i can think of for now. Thanks.
My maternal Grandmother's maiden name was Weatherup. Her paternal Grandfather was Alexander, and his father was Thomas. I grew up in northern New York, immediately below the St.Lawrence river. I would like to know as much information as there is about the family tree before Alexander and Thomas, and documentation to support it, please. Pre-Famine information has been desperately sought by our family.
My name is Joady weatherup, I live just south of Sydney Australia. My father is Malcolm Weatherup, my uncle is Jon Weatherup, their my father my grandfather was Donald Weatherup, who came to Australia from Carrick Fergus in the 1920s. I believe he had two sisters - Jane and Agnes who remained in Ireland, and were connected to the irish linen mill in carrick Fergus. I have a copy of grandfather's birth certificate (somewhere!). If anyone expresses interest I can dig it out.
SaLeanna- If you could tell us what part of NY that would probably do a lot to help narrow it down, as there are two major and several minor branches of Weatherups in different parts of NY state that we know of.
Noni & Joady- Greetings! Apparently someone from your branch of the Weatherup family has been in touch with Will Weatherup in England, because he provided us with info on the Aussie Weatherup's (though we apparently had some of your names spelled wrong, for example we had your grandfather Donald Malcolm Weatherup as Marriot Donald Weatherup). From your grandfather Donald your tree climbs up as follows: Donald M. Weatherup is son of John Weatherup (1848-1935) however he was married twice so I don't know which wife would be your ancestor... That birth certificate could help clear that up. John Weatherup (1848-1935) in turn is the son of James Weatherup (1812-1889) and his third wife Elizabeth Donald. James is the son of John Weatherup (1785-1843) & Susan Johnson, my GGGGGrandparents whom you can read about on my Weatherup page (which I need to update).
Wesley- We can already roughly figure out where you fit in, as the Thomas you mention is pretty well known to us as the progenitor of the Northern New York Line of Weatherups. I don't have too much in the way of documentation but I can send you some family bible records if you send me your email address, and Bryan might have more as that is his branch.
to all- I expect to be updating (and simplifying) this list of Weatherup immigrants (somewhat) soon, thanks to new info uncovered by Sue.
Gecko, I would like to see how the Thomas William Weatherup you described (son of John Weatherup/Sally Watson, married to Mary in Governor, NY who ran the "Brasie Corners" Cheese Factory up to 1889) differs or is similar to the Thomas/Mary Weatherup I have at the top of my tree so far.
The Thomas/Mary I have had 3 children named Ione, Irving and Ivan (all deceased):
Thomas/Mary had 1. Ione who married Brock Klotz and had 2 boys, Richard and Steven in oregon.
Thomas/Mary had 2. Irving, who was married to (?) and had Stewart now divorced, Wendy who married Phil in CA, Bonnie who married Larry Smith in Albany, and Jeannie who maried Kibbon in UT
Thomas/Mary had 3. Ivan (1917-2006) who married Marion Fernald (1914+) and had Linda (1943+), Craig (1945+) and Mark (1948+), [MY FATHER].
My grandfather, Oakland Joseph Weatherup married Ann Seymour. They lived in DeKalb Junction, New York - a hamlet outside of Canton, New York. They had five children:Oakland Joseph(my father), David, Dorothy, Nancy, and Phillip. My understanding is that my grandfather had about 11 siblings - possibly 12. I am not certain of whom to contact for more detailed information.

If anyone is interested in taking a look at the itsourtree.com account, he/she will find many Weatherup additions and hopefully, over time with a little effort, make these questions answered finally.
Sorry for not replying sooner, I haven't been doing anything genealogy related for some time now.
JoAnne- I sent you a message via email (I think I have the right address) but I'll recap here- I've previously been in contact with some relatives of yours and already have you in the tree. Actually one of those 11 siblings of your grandfather is the Thomas William that Bryan is talking about. But is the Nancy you mention the same as Anne Mary Spero (formerly Truax, maiden name Weatherup)?
Bryan- I believe the Thomas Weatherup (no info on his middle name, 1819-1894, son of John Weatherup and Sarah Watson) that I mentioned, is the grandfather of the Thomas William Weatherup whom you discussed, via his son Alexander from Thomas' [the Thomas 1819-1894] second marriage to Eliza Whiteford (caution- there was also another son also named Alexander from his first marriage who died as an infant).
A fair bit of the info you posted is new to me, so I'll look it over and add that before I send you the master file.
How do you access this 'itsourtree.com' tree? I joined the site (actually dynastry.com) and when I do a search I can see you and others listed but I don't see how to view or join "your" tree, just how to build "my" tree.
I would like to add another child, John Donald Weatherup, to the abovementioned Anthony (Patterson) Weatherup's family. John (more usually known by his middle name, Donald.) was born in 1907 in Blairgowrie, Scotland to Anthony and his wife, Frances Louisa (nee ; Morrison) He died in 2000 at Pasadena, CA.. Some confusion also appears to exist about Anthony's (one of) brother Marriot. It is part of my family's lore that Marriot went to Australia. More than that about him is not known by this paeticular American branch of Weatherups. Anthony was my grandfather, John Donald, my father.
Sorry for the multiple posts... browser was having trouble!
Nancy, I'm not sure if or when you might read this comment but I was searching the California unclaimed property database and there are several entries for a John Donald Weatherup in Pasadena and Long Beach. This sounds like it may be your late father. Worth looking into! Hope this finds you well.
Hi, My name is Chris Nelson with Pop Top Heaven, Inc. I'm trying to find contact information for Nancy Weatherup of Long Beach California. It's regarding John Donald Weatherup, and is of the utmost importance. Just google our company name, and contact me if possible. Thank you.
I had once come across a census record of a John Weatherup in New York City, but don't have that record saved. And I think I remember he was listed as a Tailor.
Now I've found a John Weatherup, 24, who emmigrated from Belfast to NYC in 1849
on pg 359 of "Famine Immigrants: List of Irish Immigrants Arriving at the Port of New York" he is amongst the many passengers on the Mariane with a date of 02 July 1849 (though I'm not sure if that is the date it arrived in NYC or the date it left Belfast).
There's no one else with the same surname amongst the listed passengers.
Who was he? He's not the same as John B. Weatherup, ancestor of the Western NY Weatherup's and a tailor, right? He was supposed to have come along with his family [wife & kids], & possibly alongside his brothers/nephews via the St. Lawrence seaway.
Also forgot- A question for Nancy- regarding your father born 1907 in Scotland, son of Anthony Patterson Weatherup. Does this mean that Anthony P. moved to Scotland from Co. Antrim before having moved to the States in 1920?
If so that could be the one who moved "back to Scotland" that Alexandria was talking about.
Hi all, Chris from Pop Top Heaven again. Has anyone had contact with Nancy? I really need her to contact me regarding her late father. I suppose I'll be giving up after this post :)
