Often we reach for the moon and just catch a star.

Ellen and James &Helen (Maclean) and James of Dummer - are these the same couple does anyone know please? If they appear in your line can we swop notes? Sue
a.jensen- Thank you for the additional info. If your interested in Weatherup's of Dummer, Ontario you might be interested to know that there is a land patent for 100 acres in Dummer dated 6 Sep. 1832 granted to a John Witherup who is listed as a Discharged Gunner. We never knew what to make of this entry.
John Wetherup , born Ireland is on the 1851 Census in Dummer aged 70 pensioner. We have a James Wethereb 25( which is how Wetherup would sound with a broad Irish accent) and an wife Ellen 22 also on 1851 Census of Dummerwith son John 5 and daughter Mary Ann. I would so like to see these related but cannot find any proof. I just have a feeling that these two are my great grandfather, Robert Weatherup of Dummer's parents. Oh its frustrating!
